Frank Esposito Fires A 65 To Lead After Day One of the Fall Finale

Forsgate’s Frank Esposito does not want the fire to go out just yet.

The 54-year-old, who won the Senior PGA Professional Championship yesterday at Desert Mountain, continued his impressive play with a 7-under 65 at the Fall Finale at Spring Lake Golf Club.

Esposito’s 65, which included nine birdies on the day, is his lowest round of the year. It is also the lowest score of any player at a Section major this season.

2014 winner Brett Jones of Due Process sits in solo second at 3-under, while two-time defending champion Alex Beach of Baltusrol is in third at 1-under.

The field of this event consists of the top 40 Section Professionals from the OMEGA Player of the Year standings. The Fall Finale is the final Section major of the year. The 54-hole event has determined two of the last three Section Players of the Year.
