Internship Opportunity

 
The New Jersey PGA Section and the New Jersey Golf Foundation are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and personable college student who is interested in learning and working in the sport management industry while earning academic credits through their institution. 

This is a great opportunity for any student wishing to enter the sports management field. In fact, our current Executive Directors of both the Section and the Foundation have successfully completed internships with the NJPGA. 
Duties of the intern include, but are not limited to, assisting the NJPGA Section & Foundation Staff with tournament administration/operations.

This intern must be fulfilling credit at their academic institution and be willing to work flexible hours.

JUNIOR GOLF
  • Promotion and on-site operations of the New Jersey PGA Junior Tour, US Kids Golf Tournaments and Drive, Chip & Putt Qualifiers.
  • Tournament set-up, registration, starter on the first tee, pace of play monitoring, scoring and awards presentations.
 
PROFESSIONAL TOURNAMENTS
  • Assisting staff and interacting with PGA Professionals, sponsors, and amateurs at weekly events.
  • On-site sponsor activation.
  • Live-scoring, spotter duties, and help with registration.
 
NJ GOLF FOUNDATION
  • Helping grow the game of golf through our three pillars: military, youth, and special needs.
  • Assist with Special Olympics, the Mid-Atlantic Blind Golf Association, and PGA H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere)

Supervisor Title: Director of Junior Golf & Player Development
Compensation: No financial compensation while students are fulfilling academic obligation
Benefits: Academic Credits, Experience in the Sport Management Industry, Networking with PGA Professionals and members of the Golf Industry, Staff Clothing, On-Site Meals, as well as some playing opportunities.
